The Rendezvous is a Family event with an emphasis on Children! Look at all there is to do!

New to the Rendezvous this year!

Story Telling with Dusty Traum - My stories are primarily Native-American; either retellings of traditional stories or adaptations based in tradition. Many are focused on how and why certain things came to be, most involve nature, and many characters are animals. Some stories include drum, rattle, or cedar flute. I have been known to include the occasional voyageur tale just for a relish, although these are more suitable for adult audiences. I am not a children's storyteller per se; I tend to allow each audience to determine the level and content of the story. As in traditional telling, I do try to make sure there is something for everyone.

Oxen working with wagonFrontier Resources Hands on History - History comes alive for kids of all ages!  See what animals the Early American Settlers brought with them and how they were used.  Watch oxen traiined to do the hard labor with only a word from the driver.  Take a wagon ride through the grounds.

Free! Colonial Games - Try some of the fun colonial games that kids played in the 18th century, such as "trundling the hoop," stilt walking, graces, lawn bowling, ninepins, draughts (checkers), jacks, board games, and the Moccasin Game!  Just ask our volunteers in the children's area!

Fun for Children of all ages!

And educational too!

Children's Bead jewelry Booth - Colonial glass beads in lots of bright colors, authentic bone trinkets and feathers!  Kids make your own designs or ask for help from our volunteers.
