Mission Statement

The mission of the Spirit of Vincennes, Inc. Rendezvous is to promote and to preserve the heritage of Vincennes by providing a two-day, family-oriented, historical festival for the people of Vincennes and Knox County, and visitors from throughout the Midwest.

The Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous is committed to fulfilling its mission by:

Providing a festival under the charter of the Spirit of Vincennes, Inc. and joint affiliated sponsorship with the city of Vincennes and the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park. Providing a festival each Memorial Day weekend, in part to honor the memory of those who served in the American Revolutionary War and in all the Nation's wars. Providing a festival representing the lifestyle and culture of the country east of the Mississippi during the period 1700 to 1815 with all the sounds, sights, and tastes of festival activities and events true to this period. Providing through this festival an emphasis on the Vincennes area frontier history and culture.  Providing a festival through the work and contributions of individual volunteers, corporate sponsors, and local not-for-profit organizations. Providing a festival established on the commitment to quality, period authenticity, safety, cleanliness, environmental beauty, friendliness, enjoyment for our visitors of all ages, and our volunteers and participants. Providing a festival that is affordable for our visitors so that cost does not prohibit their attendance and enjoyment. Providing a festival that will continue for future years by actively recruiting new volunteers and corporate sponsors.

Other activities of the Spirit of Vincennes, Inc. - providing scholarship awards to graduating seniors from each of the Knox County High Schools. Making the French Commons available for other appropriate activities.
